Setting Sail with AET and MISC

Congratulations to AET and MISC on the grand opening of the new headquarters! Designed and built by Conexus Studio, this vibrant 42,174 sq ft space spans two floors at the newly completed Labrador Tower. The design reflects AET and MISC's leadership in maritime energy transportation, showcasing their commitment to innovation, collaboration, and a greener future for the entire industry.

At the opening event, a high-energy lion dance and drum performance filled the space with auspicious energy, setting the stage for a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, Chairman of AET and MISC, and Mr. Zahid Osman, AET President & CEO and MISC President & Group CEO.

Joining them were several distinguished guests, including Mr. Murali Pillai, Minister of State, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Law, Dato' Dr. Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore and Mr. Teo Eng Dih, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Conexus Studio’s Group Managing Director, Brendan Khor, was also invited to celebrate this milestone alongside the esteemed guests.

In his welcome address, Mr. Osman highlighted the significance of the new space: “This office is more than just a new workspace—it’s a reflection of our ambition, collaboration, and resilience. Here, we will build on our legacy, forge new partnerships, and continue delivering progress toward our decarbonisation and 2050 net zero goals as part of the MISC Group.”

Following a commemorative address by Guest of Honour Mr. Murali, attendees toured the office and viewed live feed from AET’s oil tanker, Eagle Varna, visible from the office. This connection between the shore and sea teams is echoed in the office design, where nautical and tanker-inspired elements infuse the space, offering a bold nod to their seafaring roots.

Bringing this vision to life was no small feat. Conexus Studio worked closely with AET and MISC throughout engaging design workshops and in-depth discussions, all while navigating a compressed timeline—one that proved to be as rewarding as it was challenging. Datuk Abu Huraira praised the design, acknowledging the dedication and creativity poured into this project.

A big thank you to AET and MISC for trusting Conexus Studio with the design and build of their headquarters — we’re thrilled to have been part of this grand voyage. Here’s to even greater success and growth as they continue to make waves from their remarkable new premises!

Keep an eye out for more updates as we celebrate the official launch of AET’s innovative new workspace.
