In an era defined by hybrid work, Hitachi Asia has redefined the conventional workspace to cultivate creativity, collaboration, and productivity. The new office is not merely a physical location but a manifestation of the organisation’s core values and vision for the future. Built on the principles of flexibility and transparency, this cutting-edge hub invites employees to engage, connect, and explore novel opportunities in a vibrant and invigorating environment. By seamlessly integrating advanced technology with thoughtful design elements, Hitachi Asia’s innovative office stands as a testament to its dedication to crafting a future-ready workspace that empowers every individual within the organisation.
A Symbol of Unity and Innovation
Drawing inspiration from the emblematic Hitachi crest, the new office design begins with a reception layout that mirrors the crest’s graceful curves and twists. Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed by a contemporary reception area featuring an impressive array of digital screens that proudly showcase Hitachi’s numerous accolades and groundbreaking initiatives. Each element of the design, from the sleek furnishings to cutting-edge technology, denotes a forward-thinking environment. The dynamic townhall area, replete with adaptable training rooms, is tailored to meet the diverse and evolving needs of its workforce. Central to this space is a striking metal curtain emblazoned with the phrase “One Hitachi,” a powerful symbol of unity that reinforces the company’s collective mission and promotes teamwork among employees.
Building a Culture of Wellbeing and Sustainability
The new Hitachi Asia office places a strong emphasis on sustainability and employee wellbeing, effectively minimising its environmental impact while fostering a healthier workspace. The integration of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems aligns with contemporary sustainability practices. Furthermore, the incorporation of biophilic design elements such as sunlit workstations, miniature moss landscaping, as well as eco-friendly materials and an organic traffic flow, enhances employee experience, creating a calming atmosphere that stimulates creativity. This thoughtful approach fosters a sense of connection to nature while promoting mental wellbeing, essential for productivity and overall job satisfaction.
Embracing Community & Connectivity
Hitachi Asia’s relocation strategically unifies previously isolated departments into a cohesive workspace designed to foster a sense of community and inclusivity. Organised into four distinct ‘neighbourhoods’ within an open-plan layout, employees benefit from dedicated areas that support focused work, collaboration, and formal discussions. Central to this design is a vibrant pantry with diverse seating options, complemented by dynamic team interaction spaces that encourage spontaneous interaction. Prioritising seamless connectivity, the office is equipped with advanced technology that facilitates collaboration for both in-person and remote team members, while diverse physical settings, from inviting lounges to versatile meeting pods, create an environment where productivity flourishes and a strong sense of belonging is nurtured among employees.
Bringing Transformative Ideas to Life
At the heart of Hitachi Asia’s new office lies a progressive design ethos that champions adaptability and forward-thinking solutions. By integrating various dynamic spaces, the design caters to the diverse needs of employees while anticipating future workplace transformations. Each thoughtfully selected design element enhances collaboration, creativity, and employee well-being, forming an environment fertile for ideation and problem-solving. The innovative use of materials, from the fluid pathways constructed from stretch membranes, along with intricate curved installations, including the custom-made metal chain curtains, exemplifies the artistry of Conexus Studio, fostering a seamless flow throughout the office. This harmonisation of aesthetics and functionality crafts a workspace that not only inspires employees but also supports Hitachi’s culture and values.
“Conexus Studio’s design and project team demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail throughout the entire process. They consistently met deadlines and often exceeded our expectations by delivering ahead of schedule. Their ability to react swiftly and coordinate seamlessly between all parties involved in the renovation — including our internal teams, building management, and third-party vendors — was commendable. The construction and management of the renovation was also nothing short of outstanding. Conexus Studio successfully brought a unique design vision to life, employing materials creatively and skillfully transforming artistic impressions into reality. The team’s dedication to quality craftsmanship and their refusal to take shortcuts are evident in the exceptional finishes.”
