Conexus Studio puts a modern spin on the design conventions of corporate workspaces, building a functional yet hospitable office for a confidential global insurance company. Executed in phases, the A&A (Addition and Alteration) renovation was carefully synchronised to meet tight deadlines while employees continued working in adjacent areas. Through close collaboration with the client, the team navigated complex timing challenges during each stage of the build, meeting stringent building management requirements to minimise disruption and maintain operational continuity. The result is a sophisticated work environment that blends functional design with an inviting atmosphere, proudly reflecting the conviviality of a business that places people first.

Making First Impressions Last

Referencing the marble-clad entrances found in traditional financial institutions, the brightly lit front-of-house embodies the company’s goal of providing professional services with reliable transparency and genuine care. The design combines glossy marble and glazed surfaces to maximise light penetration and reflection. Light wood elements, architectural curves and layered lighting add a touch of hospitality, resulting in an inviting atmosphere that warmly welcomes everyone entering the space.

Ensuring Comfort and Agility

The front-of-house layout also prioritises guest experience, with a pantry conveniently located to enhance comfort during visits by providing easy access to refreshments. Adjacent to the pantry, a multifunctional training and conference room boasts an operable wall partition that can be retracted to allow for flexible space usage. This versatility transforms the front-of-house beyond a mere reception area into a vibrant hub for townhalls, meetings and events.

Modernising the Workspace

The renovation offers a comprehensive update to enhance aesthetics, functionality and atmosphere to support the company’s vision and operational goals. In areas designated for focused work, the colour palette has been meticulously chosen, featuring a balanced mix of timeless shades like beige, brown and grey alongside tasteful highlights of red and blue that reflect the company’s branding. This harmonious blend creates a calm atmosphere while ensuring that the brand identity remains present, yet understated.

Prioritising Wellness and The People

Natural light is essential to the design, with workstations strategically placed near large windows to maximise sunlight and capitalise on the panoramic views. Glass partitions allow sunlight to permeate even the deeper areas of the office, ensuring every corner of the workspace is bright and energising, promoting overall employee health and satisfaction.

The space layout integrates informal breakout areas alongside traditional desk spaces, encouraging employees to transition fluidly between focused work and collaborative or restful activities. It’s the key to a thoughtful design that redefines how today’s offices contribute to the wellness and productivity of their occupants, encouraging the team to recharge, exchange ideas, and return to their tasks with renewed energy.

Despite tight timelines, we delivered an office refresh that extends the brand's identity, reflects their commitment to excellence, and ensures a high-quality workplace experience.”
